I’m having a bit of trouble figuring out just what it is I want to do with my life, so in the mean time I like to ramble around the world and blog about it.

I have a a bit of a knack for finding myself in funny, bizzare and sometimes dodgy situations at home as well as while travelling. People often tell me I should write a book so I have made a blog instead. There are a few nice stories thrown in as well, though everyone knows it’s the disasters and mistakes that make for the best yarns.

When I’m not traveling, I live in Australia and work as a registered nurse which is at times both immensely rewarding and completely God-awful.
Besides travelling, stuff I like includes reading, cooking, bushwalking, snorkeling, picnics, and solving the world’s problems over a bottle of red wine.

The only thing I don’t like about travel is that it takes me away from my friends and family who really are the lights of my life.

Also, it makes me poor.

This is a continuation of my old blog over at http://www.selfinflicteddrama.blogspot.com. I am from Newcastle, NSW and as much as I love to travel, there’s no place like home.

  1. OMG that picture of the you and whoever with the pussy wagon is just sooooo Australian. This is coming from a fellow Aussie who escaped to Canada 30 years ago 🙂
I’ve been reading about your travels – wow! and then some.
Thanks for following our blog. I hope you enjoy the stories of our journey. And don’t be a stranger – come on over and join the conversation.
    Cheers Alison

    • Ha thanks that is my brothers old van. Sadly The Pussy Wagon went to car heaven (the wreckers) just recently! But we still have all the memories. Thanks Alison I look forward to reading more of your adventures too.

  2. Hi Cary – lovely ‘About Me’ you have. When I am not working, I travel. I wish it was other way around, but I will get there. By the way there are loads of options to travel with low budget, without becoming poor. 😉 Those opportunities are just not as visible and requires some effort, but it’s definitely worth it.

    • Thank you. Yeah that’s true about low-budget travel but I think what makes me poor is the long periods of time not making any money while I am away….. now if I could just find a way to earn money whilst traveling I’d be set.
